Espace Saint-Ravy welcomes you from November 30 to December 19, 2024 for the Entrecroisements exhibition, featuring the weaving work of Gaëlle Debeaux.
Gaëlle Debeaux weaves salvaged materials as a way of invoking tradition, but also of raising ecological urgency. In 2019, the artist will devote herself to her artistic textile practice. Having experimented with painting and engraving since 2002, as well as arts and crafts such as leatherwork and jewelry, it is textiles and weaving that finally become her preferred mediums.
Using scraps also means integrating constraint into his production logic. The works take shape as the artist gleans. For the exhibition, textile and sculptural forms mingle with experimental pieces that are a cross between art and fashion. The starting point for this series is a construction site tarpaulin used by Gaëlle Debeaux, always with a view to reuse.
