Kaysersberg

Welcome to Kaysersberg in Alsace!

Located on the famous Alsace Wine Route, 10km from Colmar, come and discover the town of Kaysersberg!

Take a stroll, and look up: you'll be seduced by its remarkable historical landmarks: the Church of the Holy Cross with its superb carved wooden altarpiece, its fortified bridge over the River Weiss, its medieval ramparts and towers, its richly decorated half-timbered houses from different centuries, and also the birthplace of Albert Schweitzer, a native of Kaysersberg who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952, now the Schweitzer Centre.

Kaysersberg also offers a wide range of cycling and walking routes between vineyards and mountains. Maps and topo guides are available from the tourist office.

Stop off at one of our creative craftsmen, and sample local products at our local shops. Don't miss a visit to one of our independent winegrowers, with a tasting of their wines including the Grand Cru Schlossberg.

Put down your suitcases and take advantage of the many events taking place throughout the year: Easter market and preludes, role-playing festival, summer welcome aperitif, folk dances, night markets, potters' market, its authentic Christmas market, treasure hunts, treasure hunts and fun walks for families.

Gain height by walking to the remains of the castle overlooking the imperial city. From the top of its keep, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the splendours of Kaysersberg.

Did you know? Kaysersberg was voted France's favorite village in 2017, a flagship program presented by Stéphane Bern on France 3, highlighting the city's rich heritage.
