Les Calanques

Known the world over for its imposing landscapes of limestone cliffs plunging into the sea and the Cosquer cave, the Calanques site is also home to exceptional biodiversity and cultural heritage.

Marseille is home to a number of leisure and vacation centers along the coastal arc that runs from Niolon in the west to Cap Croisette in the south, via the Frioul archipelago.

If you are in Marseille and want to cut yourself off from the world, to stop hearing the noise of the city and discover an enchanting landscape, go for a walk on the beach of the calanque of Sormiou.

You reach the Calanque de Sormiou via the Baumettes district in Marseille via the Col de Sormiou pass and by taking a wonderful little winding road lost in the garrigue.

The Massif des Calanques, classified as a National Park, is also home to the national forest of the same name.
