Her view of her surroundings is disarmingly simple and acute. She sees, hears and feels in a singular way. She tracks traces of the living in the midst of the urban. Outside, something calls to her. When she opens the door, her sensory memory awakens, and with it her years at boarding school. Their little gang of three regularly escaped. In a pared-down, graphic scenography, suspended rods are transformed by the light to evoke the boarding school, the factory and the forest. Annabelle Sergent brilliantly interprets this multi-voiced tale, which takes shape through a sensitive text that conjures up sensations and landscapes.
