Founded in 1958 in San Francisco, Sundek is one of the first brands dedicated to surfing. During the 1960s Sundek expanded its California market with Hawaii and the East Coast. Their innovative solutions such as the use of Velcro instead of traditional zippers have increased popular demand. During all these years many young surfers began to be sponsored by Sundek, promoting the brand as well as this new sport that has become a real lifestyle. 1972 marks the beginning of the rainbow era boardshorts. Thanks to their technical and original qualities, with an easily recognizable design, they have become an icon for surfers. Its logo, a sunrise on the horizon whose rays recall flames but also waves is today one of the most recognized in the world of surfing
