Delphinaterra, Latin for clay dolphin, has its roots in antiquity and is reborn today through my relationship with the earth. It's a love story that's been going on for over 20 years. Each person I've met, passionate about this material, has enabled me to discover different approaches and techniques: from mounting clay with a colombin or slab, from throwing stoneware to glazing it, from making my own glazes to passing on my passion? All these encounters have been rich in sharing and exchange!
Each ball of clay is a rebirth. Even if success isn't always forthcoming, learning from your mistakes, being kind to yourself, trying again, leads to obtaining what you expect, or even composing the unexpected. Reinforced by the wonder of having created, the desire is constantly renewed.
The creation of Delphinaterra is a new stage in my life, an opening to others to share who I am through my pottery, to share my passion with others, who in turn will begin a beautiful love affair with clay.
