L'Oiseau Vert

Adapted from a play written in 1765 by Venetian playwright Carlo Gozzi, L?Oiseau vert directed by Agnès Régolo reminds us that human beings are capable of the worst before the best. It has the plumage of a fairy tale and the ramification of a sharp beak. Agnès Régolo?s L?Oiseau vert (The Green Bird) tells the tragic-comic tale of Renzo and Barbarina. Abandoned at birth, the twins, in search of an identity, discover an unworthy stepfather, a neurasthenic father and a mother buried alive by a treacherous grandmother. Will they manage to find a little humanity in all this darkness? The play navigates a fabulous, timeless universe, carried by eight facetious performers and an original pop-rock score that reveals all its modernity.
