This walk will take you from Montbard to Saint-Rémy, discovering the districts of the Faubourg and the Bordes: these districts on the heights of the city are among the oldest. The Bordes district will allow you to enjoy a superb view of the city where Buffon, the famous naturalist, was born and whose work can still be admired in the park that bears his name. Once you have arrived in Saint-Rémy, one of the points of interest of which is its Monastery of Byzantine rite, you will take the road back along the banks of the Canal de Bourgogne.
This artificial waterway was very popular in the 19th century and was used for trade, but today it is totally dedicated to pleasure boating. You will undoubtedly come across many boats and just as many tourists on bicycles who appreciate so much these old towpaths converted into bicycle routes.
